Report: Needs Assessment Results

The University of Wisconsin-Madison PERC Research Team conducted a comprehensive assessment of service needs during the time period September 2009–February 2010.

This needs assessment, summarized in the spring of 2010, initially sought participation, advice, criticism, and opinions from all associates and stakeholders engaged in expanding opportunities for employment for persons with disabilities in Wisconsin. The information gathered from the assessment became an integral part in outlining PERC training and resource development priorities.

Focus group participants indicated that public support services (transportation, housing assistance, etc.), benefits planning services, supported employment services, and post-employment services were unmet service needs for individuals with severe disabilities in Wisconsin. As a result of this and additional feedback, PERC research, training, technical assistance, and resources priorities were established.
